Harlequin Haven Great Dane Rescue

Our owner turned us (Chloe, Diana, Dad, Mom, my brothers and sister and myself) over to Harlequin Haven when they were moving out of state so she could care for her ill mother.

Harlequin Haven was already full but still agreed to take us all (4 adults and 5 puppies). Our owner claimed to be a rescue and told HHGDR that our parents and aunts were all dropped off to her when their owners no longer wanted them. Then she was breeding them so they could produce puppies for her to sell. If they did not come to her with AKC papers she was registering them with the CKC so they had papers. Grandma here at HHGDR says that a real rescue does NOT breed rescue dogs to make more homeless dogs. Grandma also says a reputable breeder does NOT breed a dog until it is an adult yet they were all used for breeding before they were even 2 years old!

None of us were house pets our parents and aunts were just breeding machines and we all lived outside together, our owner claimed that after all of them were dumped on her she did not have room for us in her house! It is nice having a warm building and bed to sleep in at nights.

My brothers and sisters have all found their forever homes and few people have even shown any interest in me! Now my fear is that everyone will think that there is something wrong with me because I was not chosen. I just want to tell you that sometimes the best is saved for last!! Hey at least now I have my own name!!

Well as you can see below I am growing up here at the rescue. Sometimes people come and ask to look at me but the bottom line is they want a little puppy and I am no longer a little puppy. So now you can see how beautiful I have become.

Update: I was adopted a month ago and thought I had found my forever home but then suddenly my mom called the rescue. The next thing I knew mom woke me from my nap and turned me over to a volunteer from the rescue.

Updated August 10: I am now ready for adoption.

Please can you spare a few dollars to help the Rescue continue to help me and other Danes like me it would be greatly  appreciated. Without the rescue who knows where we would have ended up!!
